Deputy Accidentally Shoots Suspect's Mother During Confrontation

Recommended Posts

Just released on Police Activity about an hour ago on YouTube. Officer arrived to investigate what appears to be a shoplifting charge. Things got way out of control inside the house as you will see in the video.

Honestly that entrance and kick was the first use of smart tactics in the whole video. Also being calm enough to explain and guide the female officer who was going through system shock. I dont knock her for what happened just prior to him getting there but everything before hand was horrible.

1. Following him in the house solo was asking for trouble. Wait for back up or better yet dont engage him until your backup is already on scene. She waited a good 3-4 minutes before requesting it and then it took over 5 minutes to get there.
2. Read him his rights after you secure him and search him. Basically she gave him time and a reason to get riled up.

3. Tell the mother and the other bystander to leave the house if your going to be engaged. You dont need the additional distraction.

4. Do not position yourself that you cant safely retreat.

5. If you get wrestled to the ground with the suspect on top of you and you have your firearm drawn fucking jam it into center mass and mag dump. Once he put her down like that lethal force is well warranted.

6. The mother getting hit sucks. Bad tactics put her in harms way initially but it was also her actions that directly put her in the line of fire. The officer is more at fault but the mother wasnt completely innocent.

I love how the cop just Booted him in the face sooo hard I know it sounds bad, but I was actually happy and screaming at the TV beat em up. I felt for the officer and she was being restrained by HIM.

That whole situation is a wreck and show's a lack of training across the board. If that was an academy scenario it would've been a huge fail.
