The future of GTA Online

Recommended Posts

I've had this thought lurking in my mind recently. What do you guys think will happen to our current GTA Online character(s) when the next version of GTA comes out? Do you guys think all of our money, ranks, property and businesses we own will disappear? Not sure if Rockstar Games has even commented on this yet.

I definitely think they'll be left in GTA V. I don't see how they can pull off transferring with a whole new map in a different area and whatnot. Also throws the balance off a lot and risks people having huge boosts off the start of the next game instead of everyone starting fresh which will increase longevity of the online scene in the new game as well as give them more ability to make money.

Given that GTA Online was a new thing with GTA V, they'll probably start everyone off from scratch again. I mean, new place, new face. Right? Otherwise, they may let you port over a character and say maybe a percentage of money and a car or two?

I could honestly see R* doing that. Same character and a percentage of what you own. Still very curious how it will all play out though.

Well, They did let your port from PS3/360 to PS4/One and then PC.  but like mike said, now location new person. For all we know they could do a game set in the 80's (like they did with Vice city').

Tbh I think they are gonna be able to be moved if you want like when the old gen and new gen stuff came out, it makes the most sense in my mind.
