Hello,

 

We are trying to setup a FivePD server, but we are getting an unusual error. It is setup on a dedicated server and we are able to connect and play on it, but FivePD does not load with this error:

 

"An error has occured: Internet connection is required to play FivePD. Either our server is unreachable or you are not connected to the internet. Please try again later."

It is a fresh installation but running on a dedicated server.

Try opening port 1000 / 80 / 443 / 30120.

We fixed that initial issue... to a point. It happens quite often and is sometimes fixed by a restart but is unreliable, the main issue now is to do with the database. We have verified that the database is there with all of the sql loaded into it, and we have the details correctly entered into the config which has been verified multiple times. Now we get this:

We still do have the problem of it saying that there isnt a internet connection which is quite annoying especially since it only happens so often.

This error only occurs when the database information is not correct.

Ok, im going to try some things there. Do you know why we might be getting that internet connection error? We keep getting the error but works after a few restarts then breaks again after the next. People can connect and the server definitely has an internet connection and all of those ports seem to be open? Whats the best way to validate all of the ports both externally and on linux itself? Or maybe it's something else?

You've been using FivePD locally without any errors, right? It seems like there is something wrong with the VPS.

You can check the list of open ports with `ufw status`.

Yeah I have. I just can't figure out why it is doing this error. I have a feeling the password might have invalid symbols but is extremely hard to check because of this issue. it's like a roll of a dice to get it working or not.

Ok, we somehow managed to get it working. I think part of the solution was restarting it without a full server restart. Rather than open a new ticket I'll just ask here.

 

We are now having issues where none of the custom callouts we have are appearing a part from the ones included with FivePD by default. We are only using the BGHDDevelopment callouts and Kuchera Callout Pack right now. Any ideas why this is happening?

Are you in a department?

Did you modify any of the callout config files?

Yes, I am in a department and am getting default callouts. Is there something in the configs that need to be changed from default?

Try forcing the callout, there might be an error somewhere.

When I go into the debug menu, the callouts aren't listed a part from the default ones. Here's the config.

No, I've just tested it.

Do the following:

Replace [null] -> null in BGHD's callouts config.

The message is misleading, but [null] causes the issue.
