[FiveM] Vehicle Extra Chat Toggle 1.0.0

   (0 reviews)

Hey pals, it's your old friend Lucky.

Today, I'm just providing a very simple chat-based script as more and more vehicles have optional extras like cruise lights, park lights, multi-staged lighting, and more. This script was made for my own personal server as it has grown increasingly frustrating to utilize all of the awesome features that have drawn us to some of the vehicles out in the community.

ABOUT • • • • •

This simple script utilizes chat commands to toggle extras. This script is not dependent on any specific vehicles, as it simply checks whether or not a vehicle has an extra in the slot you're attempting to toggle, and if it does it turns it on or off under the same command.

CONTROLS • • • • •

The commands are short and sequential to minimize confusion.

  • COMMAND: /e[EXTRA NUMBER]
    • EXAMPLE: /e1, /e2, /e3, /e4...

If you wish to change the chat command this script utilizes, simply alter the following value for each command in the client.lua:

RegisterCommand("e1", function(source, args, raw)

Whereas the current command is registered as "e1", alter this to your desired command. Here's an example:

RegisterCommand("extra1", function(source, args, raw)

This script supports up to what I understand to be the maximum extras in GTA -- 14. If this is incorrect, simple copy and paste the command and adjust the necessary values. If you aren't sure, just check back here and I will likely have updated it, or can provide an update as necessary.

Additionally, if you want to take this a step further, combine this script with the RadialMenu as seen on the FiveM forums, which will allow you to create a usable wheel-based menu to select these options while in a vehicle as well.

PLANNED ADDITIONS • • • • •

Nothing! This script is, as stated, beyond simple in its form, purpose, and intent. While there are a number of chat toggles for vehicle commands, my Google-Fu suggests either nobody has released this bad boy because it's that simple, or I'm just bad at Googling. No matter the case, it's here for you to use -- if there is a particular feature you wish to add in like a /toggleall, then by all means go ahead and do so. Feel more than free to comment any contributions or expansions you've made that you wish to share with others.

How do I alter the chat command?

Extras only go up to 12.

Thanks Chief, the native description for extras suggested 14 though I suspected 12 was the case.

Do I need to add a custom resource.lua to this?

fxmanifest is the updated version of resource.lua and works in its place.
