Why 2 radio's on the center console? Genuine question.

I haven't seen their center console setup due to very limited pictures. But judging by the amount of antennas they have, and most agencies do this, is they have 2 radios to keep each on different channels.

Wisconsin State Patrol has 2 Main Radios in their cars, 1 is for State Patrol Communications Only and 1 is for Local PD and SO Communications. Some also have a CB Radio in them for communicating to truck drivers that still may have them (Usually Tahoes and the pickups). I know its a late response and Dirty Dan covered it pretty well but just wanted to add my knowledge to it.
