I made this tutorial how to stop your gta4 from crashing with ELS .v6. this works for me, i hope it works for you, so try it out!

Its ELS,my friend.I've seen people who are more than happy with v6 and I've seen those who have problems with it.I'm one of those who have problem with it.Like kubeanie18,I have reverted to ELS v5.What you did was just remove els-enabled vehicles from police and police2 slots so that the game doesn't crash as they're the ones which spawn regularly with traffic.Not really a fix,but some people may like it.Personally speaking,I like to involve myself in intense 3-4 star pursuits and hence this fix is not gonna help.It is ELS v6 indeed,which crashes,and you're just avoiding the problem,not exactly giving a "fix" for it.A fix would be to tweak the script so that it won't crash under ANY circumstances.I've tried this solution before but just doesn't work out for me.As soon as FBI and NOoSE are involved,game crashes on me.
Its just feedback.Don't take it personally.You did a good job there.

yep v6 crashed when i would call for backup so i use 5 not a single issue

I've been having the same issues. Started when I called for NOOSE support and I removed all ELS (ELS v6) vehicles from Polpat, FBI, and NOOSe. Ran OK but then it started crashing when I was 30-40 min into game and when I called for back up or even when I called for a prisoner transport. So then I removed Police and Police2. And the it happened agiain. So I will try it with just police 3 and 4 with ELS V5. Hope so ,otherwise it bye-bye to ELS.

What version of LCPD:FR are you running? Sometimes the problem is with LCPD:FR unable to spawn a vehicle, not with ELS.

But when I installed LCPDFR RC2 I had to update the patch to 1.1.2.0. I'm using the EFLC version. I've been looking online and see a lot of talk about it working the best on the regular GTA IV with the 1.0.4.0 patch. I'm wondering if its worth downgrading. But I still haven't tried ELS v5 and I'll try to lower my vehicle density as well, I've heard that can help too. Plus I'm running the game on a laptop i7. 1.6GHz, 6GB ram, and an ATI 4670. So that could be it too. The only other mod I have running aside from ELS and LCPDFR is the traffic v2.No ENB or graphics stuff.

In your case, your CPU appears to be the limiting factor, next to your GPU. I wouldn't recommend gaming on a laptop, as laptops limit your ability to upgrade the computer and your ability to find and fix problems with your hardware. If you definitely need to game on the go, then I have no suggestions, as desktops are the only way to enjoy games that are very CPU-intensive, such as GTA IV (because it was not properly optimized).

In addition, I have gotten no crashes with LCPD:FR 0.95 RC2 and ELS when playing on 1.0.4.0. The only time it will crash is if I attempt to arrest a suspect, but that's because the script wasn't written for 1.0.4.0. I've posted my findings on LCPD:FR's forums, and hopefully there will be a version soon that is fully compatible with 1.0.4.0. 0.95 Beta just crashes too much when backup units are being spawned. I suggest playing on 1.0.4.0; it is worth the downgrade even if you don't plan to use graphics mod. Read my other thead on this topic to see why. If you're interested in downgrading, you can also refer to this particular support thread, as I have turned it into a sort of a guide to get mods running on 1.0.4.0.

By the way, ELS v5 made no difference; it still crashed as much as ELS v6 did on 0.95 Beta. But none of them crashed in 0.95 RC2 as of now for me.

I have reverted back to v5 too,but I'm more of a suspect,than a police officer so I rarely use LCPDFR,but reverse its effect and let the police chase me,most of the time.Thats where the problem starts and I have also noticed an increase in crashes on my EFLC 1120.I guess I'll have to sacrifice my lovely patrol cars.Because of those specific models,I'm using els otherwise I'm not a big fan of it.

Foruman-Thanks for the info! So in order to downgrade, can I do that with the EFLC version or do I need to get a copy of the standard GTA 4?


Update-ran a few times with just police 3 and 4 with ELS car and it ran great. No crashes at all. Then - tried Police 1 and 2 with els cars as well and - ran into problems. So looks like the only cars that I can run with els is Police 3 and 4 and it also ran good with traffic denstiy at 30. Funny , but every time I would call for backup or prisoner transport police 3 or 4 would be the first cars to spawn.
