The top pic look similar to something like ITC Machine, if you stretched it out horizontally. I found a free font that's simliar on Dafont, there's probably more like it there: http://www.dafont.com/college.font
The bottom pic is a mystery to me.

The NYC used on NYC Taxis isn't a font, it's strictly a logo: http://www.underconsideration.com/br...olff_olins.php
Being a logo, it doesn't have a full set of characters that you can install and type. An example of another logo that isn't made from a font would be the Ford blue oval. There's no such font that has a full set of characters in the same script used in "Ford":
However, the rest of the lettering used on current NYC taxis is a font. From http://www.smartdesignworldwide.com/...ect.php?id=168:"A graphic design system of icons, logos, a proprietary “taxi” font, and placements of key information were developed with real users in mind."
It was created specially for NYC Taxis, so it isn't widely available. It likely isn't, and will never be, available to the average user. But if you're resourceful, you could copy & paste the letters you needed from this image (note the "NYC" used here is from the font, not the logo above):

All right, font guru's.
Try these two fonts (the one on the side of the car and the one on the trunk)
EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out... it's Gothic 720, for reference.
