I'm sure there are some people here that have no idea how to install mods to GTA 4. Now, to prevent further questions, or if we have questions, we can just link people to this without explaining further, making it a much easier life for all of us =D. Lets get right down to it.

STEP 1: Download/Install SparkIV. SparkIV can be found here. This is what your file should look like after extracting it to wherever you want, I use my desktop.

STEP 2: Run SparkIV (Vista / Windows 7: RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR OR THIS WILL NOT WORK!) This is what your screen should look like:

STEP 3: Click the "Open" Button. I will not be demonstrating how to use the "Browse" Feature as it may be difficult for people to understand. Once you open, go to your GTA IV / GTA EFLC ROOT Directory, and then open the following folder: PC, than Models, than CD Images. it should look something like this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\pc\models\cdimages .

STEP 4: Open the "vehicles" file for this tutorial, your screen should look like this.

STEP 5: Click the "Import" button, go to your modification folder, and select "police.wft" and "police.wtd" if that is infact what mod you are installing, the names can change, the process still applies. click open.

STEP 6: Click "Rebuild." Your screen should look like this:

STEP 7: Close SparkIV, load the game, and get in the vehicle you just modded!

I hope this helps, Also, please note that you really need to back up your vehicles.img, and I do not take responsibility for anything you break in your game because of this tutorial. :3

That's not about Spark. But what mods are you using?

Two of BxBugs mods, well since I've installed them the game has not worked also.. It loads the game with the loading screens etc and as soon as the game starts (free roam etc) it crashes.. does this mean I cant mod my game?

Step 3 , impossible that you cant find it. Its in root/pc/models/cdimages/vehicles.img. You cant try to open Spark -> Browse -> scroll down to what I just said.

Ok so I do everything you say and when I'm done the police2.wft files etc are both have blue text but I know it's not changed because it's only a couple hundred KB instead of thousand like it should be. Is this because of the "Administrator" thing and if so how do I know my administrator password because this is the only account on my computer.
