GPM NEWSThe Emergency Lighting System (ELS) V5 has been updated in order to address the two following issues witnessed by recent users:

- Take-down lights, once active, would become progressively brighter each time the secondary lights were toggled.
- Primary and secondary light flash speeds would increase if the take-down lights were active.

In order to ensure that you have this latest corrected version of the ELS, open your ELS.ini file and ensure that the ELS version number at the top of the file is V5-R1.15-090310. If you have an earlier version, you are encouraged to re-download the ELS and update your ELS.asi and ELS.ini files.

ADDITIONAL NOTES
- Is an .ASI mod.
- Will only work correctly when used with ELS-enabled vehicles.
- Multiple vehicle and AI support.
- Environmental lighting for secondary lights.

- Default controls:
- J: Toggle primary lights.
- K: Toggle secondary lights.
- T: Toggle take-down lights (info. panel must be on).

Impersonating a law enforcement officer
PUBLIC STATEMENTSOver the last few months it has became a common joke to many of our members that GPM seems to be a haven for police impersonators. As I am sure there are several official law enforcement officers that use this site it is no unknown fact to anyone that there are many that are impersonators or explorers claiming to be sworn officers. To become a police officer takes hard work and is one of the most challenging forms of training anyone can go through. Officers that earn their badge know the weight it carries and what it represents which is why rarely any law enforcement officer not on duty would announce themselves online or attempt to enforce the law online as it is not their jurisdiction to do so. Those who claim to be officers when they are not disrespect everyone that wears a badge and will no longer be tolerated on this site. As working in this field I am aware that most departments large and small have policies not to announce themselves outside of work and not to use police resources for a video game modding site.

There really is no way to truly tell who is who and as such understand we are not going to be "questioning" people who claim to be officers. From this point forward if a member is aggressively making statements in the representation of a police department on this site they will be banned, their IP recorded and any information including the IP address, names and emails will be forwarded via email to the agency of which they claim to be part of. Aggressively means if you start threatening to use your "police super powers" to track down someone you dislike or claim you will arrest someone when they say something you dislike this rule will come into effect. All admins will have discretionary power as to when someone is to be banned and reported.

Do not see this as some new oppressive rule as this issue has caused much aggravation over the last few months and we wish to keep the respect were it is earned.
