This thread is dedicated to the most asked questions currently being asked in regards to GPM 4.0. Instead of them being answered in a bunch of different topics, all questions will be answered here.

This thread will remain open for new questions, and this post will be updated with the answer.


Q: What is GPM 4.0?
A: GPM 4.0 is a brand new version of GPM, built on new forum software known as vBulletin.

Q: Why did GPM have to switch software?
A: IPB, which was our former software has a lot of exploits and resulted in GPM being hacked. Our new software should better protect from spambots and hackers.

Q: Why was my username changed? (again)
A: With the new update, some of the site's content was reverted back, including usernames.
S: PM an admin with your desired username, and it will be changed.

Q: What happens if I find a broken download or link?
A: If you happen to find a broken download, report it with the appropriate reason. If you find a broken internal link, PM a Content Management staff member.

Q: Why is my PM System not working?
A: PM has now been enabled by default, it should work now.

Q: What happened to my profile and avatar pic?
A: With the switch to new forum software, all profile pics and avatars have been removed. Please take a couple minutes to re-upload them, or pick from one of our default custom avatars.

Q: Why are the downloads not working?
A: Most downloads are back up. But if you find one that doesn't work, please report it or contact CM with the issue.

What is the cap on size of submitted downloads?

If you are trying to upload we currently have uploads disabled while we test things.

However, once it is enabled the max will be somewhere around 40MB I think

In the reply box/message editor (the one I'm typing in right now), if one uses "source mode" or "basic editor" instead of "WYSIWYG mode"/"Enhanced Interface", the text is black. Against a charcoal background, it's virtually invisible.

I much prefer source mode to WYSIWYG, because I prefer to see the BBCode (http://gtapolicemods.com/misc.php?do=bbcode) formatting in order to edit the way I like.

Well if that is what you prefer then you will have to deal with it. 99% of users use the default box in which the text looks fine.

You have to contact the staff for that.Or you can do it yourself (if you're a staff,yourself).

How do you change your avatar on the new site? I've managed to get everything else fixed, can't find where to change the avatar.

Either report the file or send the links to Content Management and they will be sure to cover it

As for the download, I have no clue.
