You thought a whole new website could stop us? No way. We're back in business on 2.0. And, even better, we got some great news. According to our dedicated team the SA version of the Interceptor is done, and almost ready for release. There even are eight different versions of it, with the following lightbars:



-Legend

-X2700

-Liberty

-Vector

-Edge LED

-Excalibur

-Freedom

-Slicktop



We're now working hard on the IV version, we had a couple of technical problems with that one, but luckily a solution was found. Even better, there are some rumors that it was spotted in GTA IV not long ago...

It seems some error/update on GPM has put this thread a little back into time. We lost some posts, but luckily nothing real serious. We tried to restore the thread and we'll continue updating from here.



Like we promised, we have put up some SA ingame screenshots tonight. Also we have added the texture template for the vehicle, so you guys can already start making some amazing skins for it. Even better; the best three textures will be included in the final release of the Interceptor! Just post your work here, and we'll have a fair look on it.



As for the progress of the project; Matthias has discovered some pre-release bugs in the SA model and is currently busy fixing them. We're also planning to start converting the completed model to IV, so a grand release of this vehicle for both games isn't that far away anymore. Just keep checking back here regulary for more news and updates!

Just got the news that this car is almost done for GTA:SA. Our SA Conversion Specialist, Matthias, is adding the final touches to the vehicle. We expect to have some real ingame pictures up here tonight.



In the meantime, enjoy the new project pictures that I just posted here. For the people who didn't know or guess the vehicle yet, we proudly announce that we are working on the brand-new 2010 Ford Police Interceptor, that's based on the new Ford Taurus.



We keep working on this, more information about the GTA:IV version will be posted here soon, so check this thread regulary!

We are proud to announce that the SA model is properly working ingame. It still needs some work but its not that far from being completed. Ingame pics will arrive soon!

As for the GTA IV version, it is on a good way too!

For those who seem to have a reading problem. There is a GTA:SA version and a GTA:IV version. The SA version is almost complete and the other guys a working hard to get the IV version ready. So if everyone could please stop asking if there is going to be a IV version or when it is going to be released. The whole team is very greatful for all the postive comments and skins ya'll have posted, but please understand that we have lives outside this community and that was are trying to get this finish as quick as we can. Thanks for your understanding.

Please don't take this as a "mod request" i do not mean it to sound that way, but will the "Project Interceptor team" be making the SUV also, like in the video? I'm very sorry if that question has been asked before, i am still learning this site so I would not know if someone else has posted this question. I think it would be a cool idea to go hand-in-hand with the interceptor. Just an idea. Once again, I apologize if that sounded like a mod request, if the administration feels that this is too much of a mod request, feel free to let me know, and delete this comment. Keep up the amazing work guys!

The Federal Signal Vector is a halogen rotator lightbar, and has what we call 2 "Smart" pods, the Vision model was made to have all "smart" pods, and now they also have the vision in the LED, and the newest is a multi color LED, that also rotates, there is a video out there somewhere but i couldnt find it.. and sorry to bring this back up, i just work on these things so i had to correct lol, dang OCD..



But the mod looks freakin awesome! Cannot wait for this thing to be released!

Wow... i havent seen it up close but im pretty sure thats the lightbar im thinking of, that thing is even sweeter than i thought, and yeah working on this thing would be a million times better, i have prolly 10-15 of the vector wich are the rotator halogen with the 2 "smart" pods and i rebuild those and it takes me a good day sometimes half next day to rebuild it and restore lenses and what not. But thanks for the video, been wanting to see it up close lol.

Really? I don't see it. I knew there used to be an unmarked ELS Impala that was optimized for ELS v1 or v2.



He threw up some pics of an Impala with just two grill lights, blue lights in fact, I got excited of course.. and it was never seen again.

They have "mirror-like" metal to reflect the light to light up the entire area, to direct the light and to be stronger.

Like I said, if it can't be done on the model, then oh well, but I have to disagree with you.



I don't want to argue, but Ill try to explain. Keep in mind I've seen my fair share of vehicles. I've owned 8 myself, I was an auto detailer for 9 years and a mechanic for 5 years in Canada. As a mechanic, I performed safety inspections that included lighting and reflex reflectors. By 'reflex reflector', I mean a (usually plastic) device that reflects light from other vehicles, and doesn't light itself electrically. As you're in Sweden, I can imagine how you may not be familiar with U.S. vehicle regulations. Unlike Europe and possibly elsewhere, the U.S. and Canada require these by law, amber on the sides at the front, and red on both the rear & rear side: U.S. DOT FMVSS link (http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regulations/administration/fmcsr/fmcsrruletext.aspx?reg=393.26). A common (illegal) modification to european cars here is to remove the reflectors, as the're often not installed on European cars sold in Europe: example of how to remove bumper reflectors on late model M3 (http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?p=7907821) There is a 'mirror-like' reflector behind the bulb itself on the Taurus, as you say, but it is only in the darker area here. The surrounding lighter amber is only a reflex reflector:

I only mentioned it, since some CVPI GTA models have a similar error, where the amber section is lit when the clear section should be instead. Here's a real Crown Vic front corner lamp. Notice the amber reflex reflector is reflecting the camera's flash, and you can see the amber park lamp bulb in the clear section:

It's an awesome mod and it's definetively worth waiting for. So, take a Chill-Pill and wait till it's there.
