View Full Version : Lightbar texture problem
I tried to color my lightbar but it ends up covering over the lights so I cannot see them. I've attached the texture that is causing the problem. It's pobably some simple thing but I have little experience with this sort of thing. Thanks for any and all help.

in photoshop you add your shape layer, and you go to the lay out on the side and select the layer, and turn down the opacity down to like 33%
Ok...I'll try something like that...but to what part of the template? The colored part?

Google is your friend (Click here)! (http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Transparent-Layer-in-Paint.Net) Should tell you how to do what you need. I think you will need to delete the current coloring of the light bar glass, then readd it in a different layer in order to be able to just set the transparently for the light bar glass.

Never mind, solved it by using photoshop's opacity instead of paint, haha.

I do this all the time in GIMP, if anyone is using it already & needs help http://gtapolicemods.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif. If you're used to MS Paint & have never used GIMP or PS before, all this layers and opacity mumbo-jumbo will be confusing. If you have used GIMP, it's easy-peasy. I just erase the lens area completely, create a new layer with the new colours where I want them, and set the new layer's opacity with the slider until I get it where I want. It's kind of a guesstimate, but if you use the old lenses for reference, you'll get pretty close.
