Gta iv crashes

Hello GtaPoliceMods



I have recently installed the 1.0.7.0 patch on gta iv so i could have ELS V6.

Also if i have all the files which came in the download (dsound.dll, ELS.asi, ELS, scripthook.dll and visualSettings.dat)

There comes up a message "GTAIV.exe has stopped work".



What can i do to fix this?



This i have tried:



Gta policemods mod installer



Putting all the files which came with ELS V6



Run as administrator

For 1.0.7.0 you have to use xliveless, don't use dsound.dll.

you DON'T NEED IT...some games are bitchy, others are not, like mine...I am NOT using Xlive on 1070. Please do not assume that you NEED something on a patch when others don't

OP: Try googling xliveless and downloading it. Extract Xlive.dll to your gta folder, then run LAUNCHGTAIV as admin

That might fix the loader but i cant save with xliveless.



But why doesnt the game start?



I am using windows 7

you save as normal...duh....you cant play online with xlive.....

Sorry but my pain in the *** computer always starts a new game when i have xlivless. When i click load it says no save files are identified.

Because they are in a different location....



ORG saves: C:\users\YOU\Appdata(HIDDEN FOLDOER)\local\rockstar games\gtaiv\savegames



XLIVE LOCATION: Documents\rockstar games\gtaiv\savegames



move the org savegames folder to gtaiv in the documents location. and you're done

That only leaves the patch left. Can i use an older patch instead of 1.0.7.0?
