i know that this website has not been released to the public for very long. but i think that there should be a better design. maybe a cooler background that has to do with GTA IV police cars or something... just an idea. and for the logo, i like daedaelus' profile pic http://gtapolicemods.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif

Downloads section could be improved, like you click on the picture of the file and it comes up instead of taking you to the cars download page, and you should really sort things out there, like by release date, and make the state section under USA again, same with the canadian provinces and all, also make a section like, City police/County Sheriff or Police/State Police and under those have like K-9, Patrol, SWAT, and all, those are my suggestions and i think they should be put in to effect

ooo, also, make the new files list again, same with popular files and hot threads and newest threads and stuff like that, and i really want the shoutbox again, as it made the site more social, and cut back on the facbook nock off, as GPM is unique and we don't want to be know as a nock off site like GEV was before

The shoutbox was abused for everything they were not supposed to do. Like requests.
There's no way we can moderate a chat-like tool 24/7.
And as for New files list, read my reply in the other topic.
And what do you mean "as GEV WAS" they still are..

you guys sould look into a better background for the site.nothing to much just something nice to look at

We're fine without a fancy background, in my opinion.
A background for a site must be neutral, otherwise the focus is not put on the right place.

I'm missing 'mass community functions' on the portal page.
Things that are mass and quickly accessible for everyone
- The gallery system is not the same as the PotM
- The user profile system is not the same as the ShoutBox

i agree. i like the shoutbox and PoTM. heres my 2 cents here....i would suggest to put on the home page more then 5 threads, and like gpm 1, have a blue box if u have have not read them, or blank if you have read them. also a box like gpm 1 that shows new files or popular ones. so thats my 2 cents...thanks

I agree. I'd rly like to see more then the current 5 latest active threads on the homepage. The "old" 10 was better in my opinion. Otherwise, good job on the new website guys.
Still remember guys, this is just a beta, so don't get disappointed if you don't like something, it'll hopefully get changed.I personally LOVE the new site, it has so much new features, tbh i never liked the shoutbox, it mostly got spammed by faggots asking for help and requesting ****. There's sections for that right? if you want to say hi to your friend, post on his profile, or send him a pm. Now about the backround, when they first gave a link to all the admins, they had a police car background, and to be honest, it looked gay. Caine made this new design and i love it. Did we have any ''flashy'' background on 1.0? no, so why is everyone complaining about it now? One thing i can agree with you guys is the ''latest threads'' however if you click on ''Portal'' on the menu, you can see the five latest threads.

Everything looks great so far. The only thing I would like to see are more latest threads on the portal. Maybe like 8 or 10 threads. Anyways I love the site! Great work guys!

now the site looks good... but like everyone is saying... the site background looks like a default background that the site engine gave you... but i understand what the admins are saying about how the site doesent NEED one though. i think thats fine too.

I agree. I don't usually want to read everything, just the newest and most active threads. But a few more threads in the portal would be great.
As an aside, Re:
We have been told that the apple version of safari has had issues and i am sorry we have no plans to make this site more mac friendly.
I'm quite unfamiliar with Mac's, but I just happen to be borrowing one at the moment, and can report that the site seems to display just fine in Safari on the Mac:

Also, I cannot create a photo album. When I click create new it say that I have to be logged in to do that and I am logged in.

One last thing...I am trying to download BxBugs CVPIV4.6 and it is extremely slow (2.23KB/Sec). I know this is not my computer or connection b/c I went over to GTAInside and tried to download a car and it was downloading at over 1MB/Sec.

Thanks boo i made the alpha theme and it was cool but caines is better. As for the shoutbox, we are looking into adding but with better security no promisses most of the time it was abused if you want to blame anyone for that blame the morons and caused us to shut it off.As for the gallery ill look into this but the testaccount worked so ill look into it again the gallery has caused us nothing but ****.
Any graphic and theme stuff send to caine he is our graphics designer and i honestly dont see what the problem is.
Ill look into the forum snapping to the front idk why it does that.
Someone told me it dident work on a mac and i dont have a mac so now we know it was simply their computer.
The "Portal" is not the front page as you guys are thinking it is it is simply a news hub, we do plan to add recent downloads and all that but that will take some time to accomplish. The original idea was to make it a simple fast area that briefs you on the site and you move on. At every top corner of the page it says "view new content" this also works in RSS which was a huge request and makes life easier for us with phones.
Before anyone says it we know about the download speeds that is a issue and is being looked into it was not intended.
REMEMBERGPM is ran by its community we are not paid and we have only 3 actual people that code only 1 of which knows how to code this site specifically. This is not some multi-million dollar corprate job and it wont be unless you guys give me that money and i hire that kind of staff. GPM 1.0 was dieing many of you felt it with the lag and errors but what you did not see was the true problem. GPM 1 was never designed to hold that many people it does not "cache" ANYTHING at all which means the server load was massive enough to take down a 3.4 quad core and grab 7mb kbps. We can use detailed suggestions and some examples and we can work with that but it wont be overnight. GPM 1 also was about to crash permanently and that was nothing we could stop it just was not designed for this.

This Site is ok, but by me is this Site very very slow : loading, downloading etc.
(ok i'm in Germany but the old Site was very faster)
I miss more Police Design in this Site, but the new GPM Site is very cool !!!
GOOD JOB!

The new site is great. The only thing that could (should) be added is the "latest downloads" panel. It's easier to see what's new then.
EDIT: GPM 2.0 is soooo slow...maybe just here in germany but it kinda sucks.

Can be done via RSS which is much better.
